PT. Pengembangan Jaya Papua has partnered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Kabupaten Mimika to help protect vulnerable workers from the social and economic risks they may face during their employment, including work-related accidents and even death.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, PJP is contributing by paying premiums for 200 vulnerable workers, providing them with up to six months of protection. These workers β including construction laborers, motorcycle taxi drivers, domestic workers, parking attendants, farmers, and others β belong to the informal labor category and are at particular risk while working without social security coverage.
The CSR funds were disbursed during the "Sejahtera Bersama, Apresiasi dan Peningkatan Engagement Bersama BPJS Ketenagakerjaan" event, held on July 18, 2023, at Swiss-Belinn Hotel Timika. The event was witnessed by the Head of the Mimika Regency Department of Manpower, Mr. Paulus Yanengga, SH, M.Si, together with the Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Mimika Regency, Mr. Rudyanto.
Through this CSR partnership with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, PT. Pengembangan Jaya Papua remains committed to protecting more of its fellow workers in the informal economy, helping ensure they are covered by the stateβs social security system.
